I saw on the Kansas City news that Columbia got 18 inches of snow. Of course I thought of you! We probably got closer to a foot, but there were some pretty deep drifts. I just spent two hours shovelling our walk and driveway, pausing from time to time to work on a snow fort with Ethan.
Hooray for Snow Forts! Just shoveled out my car, and part of my block has been plowed because an emergency vehicle had to reach a neighbor having chest pains from shoveling. A new mound of 5 ft. tall snow is now in my driveway, and it's sort of Sisyphean.
20"! Holy Shit. Too bad we cant get 20" of that stuff down here in CENLA. I am sure you had fun and I love that snowman. Thank you for the pics.
Man, if you ever received 20" of snow in Alexandria/Pineville/Grant Parish, I think the world would come to an end. It's bad enough to drive in Louisiana during big rain events, much less a dusting of sleet. I recall with great fondness the hysterical Susan Roesgen on WWL telling us viewers that New Orleans is under a "cold alert! Please, the temperatures will be in the 30s, wear layers if you MUST go outside!" We didn't even get a day off from work with mid-Missouri on lockdown. Government workers have to use annual leave for a declared 'state of emergency.' Awesome, good feelings these days.
